I have been eating at this restaurant since the 1970's! The food has always been fresh and tasty and you can get an entire meal for under $7. If that isn't great I don't know what is. Personally I love the retro decor and the Pac Man machine! Quality is always consistent.

I've been coming to this place since the 90's. Awesome local hole in the wall. Place is outdated, but part of its charm. Food is quite good and the prices even better. Try it out.

Don't know how this place does the business it does 30$ for chicken chow mein with nothing but bean sprouts and no taste and then soggy chicken balls drenched in sauce so they are soggy and stuck together when you get them. I don't like to leave low ratings after one experience but this was the worst Chinese food I've ever had and there is a lot of bad places....

I used to go here a lot and order their specials!Now I call to order, the same way I used to and they charge me extra. I would get, sweet and sour chicken with the sweet and sour sauce on the side instead of ontop of it, and whatever side I selected (depending on the combo)Now, I'm being told it's 1.00 extra for it on the side.I went very slow to confirm that even if I do not want the sauce ON the chicken, just on the side [ not asking for extra, just asking for it on the side ] that it is extra? I was told "Yes"I asked, so if I get it ontop of the chicken, it is not extra. But if I get it on the side instead of ontop of the chicken, it is extra? I was told "Yes"I wanted to try to be clear because sometimes there is a communication barrier, this extra charge is nonsensical.

Really needs to update they're menu on the website ordered dinner for 6 and it was almost doubled the amount on menu.

Ive had a bad experience where dough was hard and inedible but the other times have been good I like the food for the price.

This review is purely personal. After 36 years, I revisited the old place. I still looked for this restaurant. I did n’t know it. Suddenly many pictures appeared in my mind. I was very happy but also lamented that time went too fast. , Still the talkative boss, the boss added me a word, make decisions quickly, look forward to everything, I sincerely wish the boss happy every day, good health,

This place is a classic, it would certainly be called a dive but some dives have the best food. My mom always jokes that I was forcing her to come get food from here while she was pregnant with me. Veggies are always fresh, decor is old but I love it and hope they never update it. People saying thay it's run down, just because it is not new doesn't mean it's not clean. I've been eating here since I was born and it's always been tasty, hot, fresh, satisfying and friendly.

Cheap and good food

When you first walk into the place, the smell lets you know they dont care, the food reflects this. This is the worst i have seen in years.

Authentically Chinese. So much so that I don't think I'd like to come back.The restaurant itself is very messy. It's styled like an average low-income apartment in Hong Kong, which isn't a good thing. The wallpaper's peeling off in places, or held together with duct tape. Tables are old and low quality. And the washrooms remind me of the good old motherland the most, being filthy and whatnot.The food isn't half bad for average Chinese-Canadian fare. It's reasonably priced, and doesn't take too long to get to the table. The Curry Chicken didn't leave me with a good feeling afterwards, and it tasted kind of cheap.I wouldn't tell you to avoid it completely.

I don't know why people like this place, they honestly serve the worst Chinese food in all of St. Catharines. If you want to see what a restaurant in downtown used to look like before Health and Safety regulations, look no further. You'll be spending less of your money on their cheap food, and more of your time thinking about why they're still in business when the only ones eating in the restaurant are you and the spider in the washroom.

Great little Chinese restaurant. Owners are super friendly. We noticed many locals come to eat, drink and hang out and all knew the owners. Don't get discouraged from the original decor. A traditional style diner! The place is kept very clean, washrooms are spotless. If you're looking for a nice cheap Canadian Chinese meal with friendly people this is your spot. Will go back.

Chicken fried rice tasted good, but the chicken balls were absolutely terrible. They came pre-soaked in sweet and sour sauce, which made them saucy. Maybe If the sweet and sour sauce was on the side it would be better.

Pro: Super cheap! Even gave me 10 dollars off since I ordered for 8 people!Cons: You can tell why. The broccoli tasted like someone was smoking while they made it. The "chicken fried rice" was more plain steamed rice with a dash of soy sauce and an occasional piece of chicken than anything else. The sweet and sour chicken was very... greasy? Best word I can think of for it, very over cooked. It took about an hour and a half to get here which isn't the worst but the quailty was just not worth it, even for being so cheap!

I placed an order for pick up and when I opened it it wasn't what I wanted so I asked if they could replace it and the man just started yelling at me. would not go again.

The price says it all I wouldn't even give my dog this food

ordered food for delivery for my family. they told me our order would come within 45 minutes... and hour after waiting i had to call back. The person who answered the phone was rude and very nonchalent. He said he doesn't know where the order went and his driver is most likely lost & will be there soon. After TWO hours of waiting i called back and he rushed me off the phone and said if she shows up its up to me if i want to take the food and pay full price or not. NEVER ordering from here again

This place has been around forever! The decor is retro quirky! It's a place for regular people looking for inexpensive basic Chinese food! The service is good and the prices are great, you can get a blue plate special for under 4 bucks!

Posting as Kristina Hedley. Went to this restaurant on August 31st, and met the lovely family who runs it. Great food, good prices. Original interior design, but that doesn't detract from the warm, inviting atmosphere of this restaurant. Must go at least once.

I first discovered this place in September when I first came to St. Catharines to study - I love how the food is very cheap and affordable, I always wonder how they make enough to live on since it seems so quiet!I always order their chicken fried rice and I LOVE IT! I will continue to get their fried rice until I leave this city! ^^
